About This Project
Retrospective Vaughan was as a collaboration between two students and their Photography teacher at St. Jean de Brebeuf Catholic High School from 2017 to 2021.
Our inspiration was 2013's Apex Award winning project "Vaughan Retrospective" (click here to view).
Our goal was to create an online resource to nurture the local community's understanding and awareness of its built heritage. Architecture is a vital part of our collective visual culture ...
let's celebrate it!

Sooooo many people helped us get this done. Thank you to all of the students that contributed knowledge, assistance, and inspiration through the years. Some have also generously lent photographs to this project, their names have been credited wherever appropriate. A special thank-you to Katrina Guy, Cultural Heritage Coordinator at the City of Vaughan - your insight and support was instrumental.
